LIDARC has UPS back up in the data center and Fiber room that automatically switches if there is an outage. On average the UPS run for 14-16 seconds until the generator is running the facility. The UPS can run for 15 minutes at full capacity. Secondly, LIDARC can run for 12 hours at 100% capacity in the data center and fiber room on generator power. We also have contracts with two companies for fuel. LIDARC is the big fish in the little pond of colocation providers in Long Island.

What happens if there is a hurricane and are you in a flood zone?

Long Island is somewhat vulnerable to hurricanes. Its northern location and relatively cool waters tend to weaken storms to below hurricane strength by the time they reach Long Island. However, if one were to hit Long Island, LIDARC is located in the center of Long Island and is over 110 feet above sea level.

If you look at the map below, we are well out of the 100 year flood zone. 1025 Old Country Road can withstand winds up to 150 MPH. Furthermore, LIDARC is father away from the water than any data center in Manhattan.
